Amethyst Ashe has no official history, and most likely it’s just an idea of one of Riot Games’ designers. However, from the name of the skin and its art, we can make up our own story. In this skin you can see the embodiment of a beautiful gemstone – amethyst. This beautiful violet colored quartz is highly prized by many… Perhaps Ashe found a mountain of these stones in one of the caves, and tamed their power and beauty. Splash art, just shows us her standing in the middle of a cave that is studded with these gems. She has pointed her bow at her enemy, and the tip of her arrow glows, illuminating the space around her.

Concept and Inspiration

As I’ve written before, the skin is inspired by a simple, yet beautiful idea. Amethyst Ashe combines the beauty of a precious crystal with the power and confidence of Ashe. It literally embodies the essence of this gemstone. This transformation of our beloved Frost Archer, looks fresh in design terms, but the concept goes no further than a simple love of gemstones.

Design, Sound Effects and Animations

Amethyst Asha is dressed in elegant amethyst armor. Stones are embedded in her shoulder pads, kneepads, and other parts of her armor. The color palette of the clothing consists of purple and gold. Amethyst Ash is also armed with a sophisticated reflex bow, whose arrowheads are also made of amethyst. Overall, the visual style of the skin is quite pleasing to the eye.

In creating this skin, the developers went beyond just the model and made new ability particles. They updated the particles for such abilities as: Frost Shot, Enchanted Crystal Arrow and Volley. Ash now shoots arrows that glow purple and leave a nice plume behind. In addition, this line of skins features bright sparks and shimmers after the arrows hit their target.

Amethyst Ashe has several unique features, including stylish particles for her abilities:

• New Ashe. She is now clad in elegant amethyst armor. The shoulder pads, with inlaid stones, look especially cool.
• The short hair made Ashe’s style even more martial. Now Ashe looks like a very advanced warrior who has been in many battles.
• The new particles leave a beautiful purple plume behind. These effects are very nice to watch during a match.

My Review

I just love LoL champions that use the bow, so Ashe is one of my favorite champions. Amethyst Ashe with her light purple particles, complements an already attractive character concept. The new design is also interesting, but to a lesser extent. In addition, there is the Lunar Empress Ashe skin, which is just incredibly stylish. The lack of new animations and sounds isn’t too bad, considering the great ability particles.

Conclusion and Rating

In conclusion, I’d like to say – yes this is another League of Legends skin that is only built around art. Its lack of lore and some depth makes it not the best, even among Ashe skins. However, the fantastically beautiful pieces for Frost Shot, Enchanted Crystal Arrow, and Volley, make me not think about the flaws. Amethyst Ashe is in my collection and I am quite happy with it. However, I can only recommend it to main Ashe, or to fans of champions with bows.

My rating of Amethyst Ashe on a scale of 0 to 10, is 7 points. Basically all of these points were for the cool particles for her abilities and the overall pretty good gem concept. Splash – The art looks good, but it’s a bit plain and the skin as a whole could have been better. But it has its good points, and if you are convinced by them, buy it in our store!
