Let’s get ready to jump head-first into those post-apocalyptic wastelands with flair! Buckle up because it’s going to be quite a ride.
Lore
Your heart starts blazing as soon as you see Rumble in his mean-looking death buggy, leaving behind a cloud of foreboding smoke. This yordle takes no prisoners when it comes to trouble so if he’s after you, things aren’t looking too good for your fate. Everywhere in the Badlands is shrouded with danger and this rascal just oozes it out of every pore. Don’t make the mistake of messing with him unless you’re ready to face some serious repercussions!
Concept and Inspiration
Badlands Baron Rumble made a bold attempt at cool and edgy, but it fell short of expectations. The design wasn’t the worst thing in the world, not injecting any particular flair either. Donning a post-apocalyptic robot outfit sounds enthralling on paper, yet its punk style clashes with the intention of what it’s trying to accomplish. It seems like they couldn’t make up their minds between wanting to be an iron tank or an awesome set of wheels; ending up as neither – more like a poor imitation of both combined! A massive letdown if ever there was one…
Design, Sound Effects, and Animations
It’s hard to get excited about the sound effects, design, and animations in Badlands Baron Rumble – so much potential that fails to deliver. The Flamespitter ability does a decent job of adding some heat with its blanket of black smoke and explosive burst, but other abilities fall short. For instance, Junkyard Titan’s Overheating lacks the chaotic feeling you’d expect from a machine pushed to the brink of destruction. And while Equalizer attempts all sorts of flashy theatrics – fire and dark smoke meant to create an edgy atmosphere – it’s no real match for the gritty hype they were going for.
Sure, the audio effects are serviceable but they don’t break any new ground; they really stay true to the tried-and-true formulas of yore. That’s a bit of a shame because there was an opportunity for something rawer and more remarkable that sadly went unfulfilled.
Rumble raises his barrel to the sky and then clings tight, initiating a whirling spin with flames bursting out from every angle. But all this commotion only heightens our disappointment – ’cause those classic animations of Tristy’s legs just don’t go hand-in-hand with them new tank treads… it looks goofy and unpolished! This switcharoo has sentiment and spectacle down pat but playing dress-up without adjusting accordingly. That just won’t do.

Gamers Feedback
Not all players are happy with Badlands Baron Rumble, noting that for such a price the skin lacks full voiceover and refinement of animations. I’ll leave below a couple of reviews from real League of Legends players about Badlands Baron Rumble:
“The fact that they didn’t commit to making this a fully voiced skin makes me really sad…”“I don’t think the walking animation is enough to stop me from getting this skin. I like the other animations a lot.”“It’s amazing..but the ult..it feels like something is missing.”“This is a reference to Mad Max fury road where Rumble image was referencing the main antagonist and there’s a detail to its recall spitting fuel for firepower just as those in Mad Max where they also spit fuel too into the engine.”“Maybe they should give an update new animation, a bit like Cho’Gath.”
My Feedback
It’s a pretty controversial skin. I bought it without looking, and I regret it a bit. It would be fair if Riot Games would remove the SFX and VFX, leave only the new look, and drop the price to 975 Riot Points or even lower. But for now, all we have to do is wait for a sale or look into other options, like Super Galaxy Rumble.
Conclusion and Rating
It’s too bad Badlands Baron Rumble didn’t get the attention it deserved when it was created. So many ideas so much could have been done, but nothing came out. Maybe there will be a rework? Who knows. I give this skin a rating of 6 out of 10 and will wait for the rework.
