Still, this skin looks beautiful whether powered by its sound effects or animations. Man, the purple and blood-red particles look so stylish! And you’ve got to see that death animation – Blackthorn Morgana turns to ashes then the wind whisks ’em away. There’s something about it that is totally cool! With a wave of her hand, Morgana makes a bare tree come to life with remarkable speed – but alas! it’s only for an ephemeral moment. For there amongst the lifeless branches perched an apple, ripe and juicy as could be, that quickly falls into her delicate palm. That creative bit of magic? It says so much about this character; like she’s making something magical from nothingness only for it to drop dead in an instant – it seems such a waste, yet somehow beautiful at the same time.

As we all know, the Blackthorn Morgana skin had a redesign in 2019, and players were divided. Some players believe that the skin is better because of the updated animations and model rendering, while others ignore these innovations, arguing that the skin has become worse after the rework. I probably can’t give you a definite answer about the Blackthorn Morgana redesign and the skin in general, so I’ll share my feelings. On the one hand, the skin is less mysterious and gloomy now that they’ve removed those magical wings with the falling leaves, and Morgana is supposed to be dark. On the other hand, the skin was released in 2012 and the designers of Riot Games have updated most of the old elements, pulling them up to the modern League of Legends standard. Overall, I don’t think the skin has gotten much worse, but something has definitely changed in it for me.

I have to say at once, I’m evaluating only the new version of the skin, as we will not see the old one again. Good, playable skin for its price, given that you can always get cheaper. At any rate, the skin after the redesign can compete with the rest of the skins on Morgana. I’ll give it a score of 7 out of 10.
