My Feedback
I chose to buy Dragonslayer instead of Cosmic Defender. I’ll explain why, I don’t play Xin Zhao often, so I don’t consider it necessary to have a full collection on a champion, so the skins I buy in that case – should be really special and distinguish the new image from the classic one in all components, including VFX, SFX and a more interesting external image. Unfortunately that’s what Cosmic Defender Xin Zhao couldn’t offer me, but it’s still a decent skin in League of Legends.
While Cosmic Defender boasts impressive effects and a captivating echo sound, I find it slightly less engaging than the gameplay of Dragon Slayer. One reason for this is that Cosmic Defender makes it more evident when your Q is stacked.
Conclusion and Rating
Bottom line: the Cosmic Defender Xin Zhao skin will bring some “pizzazz” to a LoL player’s collection, but it doesn’t quite capture the cosmic vibe. Don’t get me wrong – that silver armor and glowing spear look pretty attractive. But unfortunately, with the exception of the Three Talon Strike special effects, there’s not much of a grand “space” feel. So if you’re an avid Xin Zhao fan looking for something new, take this skin for granted. On the other hand… if you’re looking for something that really conveys a cosmic vibe, you might be better off looking for something else!
I would give the Cosmic Defender Xin Zhao skin a six out of ten. Sure, it has some nice features, but frankly, it doesn’t live up to expectations as a cosmic skin – the lack of space-themed particles and special effects is very depressing.
