Atlantean Syndra Review
In the world of League of Legends, there are skins that top the list of the most desirable, there are those that are not interesting even for free, and there are those whose popularity is gaining momentum. Atlantean Syndra is definitely one of those skins that are getting talked about more and more lately. It was released on April 29, 2014. Get your scuba gear on, today we’re going to dive into the magical world of Atlantis as we explore all the new sound effects, features and animations of Atlantean Syndra.
Lore
According to legends, in the dark depths of the ocean lies the ancient kingdom of Atlantis. Riot Games has rethought this legend and created Atlantean Syndra, in the form of a sea sorceress, the ruler of these places. Having fully mastered the art of water magic, Atlantean Syndra strikes fear into the hearts of all daredevils and adventurers on the battlefield. Wait for the tide to rise, and Atlantean Syndra will make her appearance, heralding the end of the land-dwelling Rift era.
Concept and Inspiration
The basic message and concept of the designers who created Atlantean Syndra is a concentration of the power, the uncontrollability and the enchanting beauty of the vast ocean. The very idea of this skin contains a collection of myths and legends about mermaids, Atlanteans and other inhabitants of unknown depths. The dark sorceress Syndra appears in a new and enchanting guise of the lord of all the fabulous underwater creatures.
Design, Sound Effects, and Animations
When it comes to design, Atlantean Syndra is not the brightest representative of the huge collection of skins in League of Legends. As a player and lover of this champion, I would like to add more colors and brightness. With access to so many images of the magical inhabitants of the deep sea and the inexhaustible source of lore, a more distinctive and standout image could have been created. Despite the appearance of the skin, I would like to praise separately water splash particles and sound of the skin, which in my humble opinion make the player believe that he is a dangerous underwater predator. On the animation and sound side, literally everything changed: auto-attacks, taunts, abilities, also Riot Games have added new animation running and recall.
Unique Features
Of the unique features of the Atlantean Syndra skin is worth noting:
- Visually the new skin as a combination of the mermaid image and the classic Syndra visuals.
- Every unique Syndra feature and even the auto-attack stylized water theme. Splashes of water with every action!
- Running and running animations are not left out either. Ocean party is now on Rift.
- The skin has all the emotions updated. Now every sound effect associated with this skin has a distinctive style and lures the player into the legendary Atlantis.
Obtainability in 2023
Fortunately, this skin is still available in the in-game store for the relatively modest price of 975 Riot Points. Also, if you want to purchase a rank-ready account with this skin, you can always get it in the Smurfmania.com store, where everyone is presented with a huge range of accounts with LoL skins.
Gamers Feedback
I’ll bring you some reviews about Atlantean Syndra from the League of Legends community:
“Water orbs and other animations, ultra cool done.”
“As a female League of Legends gamer, I’m excited about every quality skin on a female character! I love Atlantean Syndra!”
“I liked the animations more than the look of the LOL skin. I want a remaster of the look of the skin, I’m ready to sign any petition!”
As you can see from the reviews, gamers appreciated this skin. Most of the negative emotions players have experienced from the unsightly skin model.
My Feedback
I don’t own the skin, but I’ve seen it in my opponents’ games, so I have plenty to say. Overall, for me, this skin from the category of interesting but not desirable. The visuals did not make the desired impression on me. The skin’s model needs a complete rework, as having such a basis and a legend for the skin and searching the internet for a couple of interesting art, you could make much better. Seriously, even the official Atlantean Syndra art looks so much brighter and juicier! For the animations, I’m ready to rate it a little higher by moving it to the personal section of interesting skins, but I’m certainly not going to buy it.
Conclusion and Rating
Atlantean Syndra is a perfect example of how a good idea and great animations were turned into an incomprehensible cover. I guess as a fan of all things mysterious and related to the ocean, I had high expectations, but the gamer community supports me. I won’t say anything at all bad about this skin, it definitely makes its owner stand out on Rift, but as far as I’m concerned, it lacked very simple things, which is a decent look. Realizing that Riot Games does skin remakes, I’ll give it a 7 out of 10 in advance and look forward to reworking this skin as soon as possible.
